Environmental Auditing

In very simple terms, environmental auditing checks environmental performance against environmental policy and objectives. However, audits depend upon the agreed scope of work and terms of reference.

Eagle Environmental’s Arend Hoogervorst is a Exemplar Global-certified Lead Auditor (EMS) and has been auditing for some 27 years. He has undertaken a wide variety of different environmental, HSE (Health, Safety and Environment), HSEC (Health, Safety, Environment and Community), SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) audits Water Use Licence (WUL) Compliance audits, and environmental due diligence investigations. He has also been an International Cyanide Management Institute (ICMI), Cyanide Code Lead Auditor since the ICMI established its third-party independent auditing requirements in 2006 and is also a ICMI specialist Production Auditor and Mine Technical Auditor. Environmental Awareness & Management Training

Environmental awareness and management training is crucial to effective environmental management practice in any organisation. It must be recognised that if that training is customised to an organisation’s needs and characteristics, it can be more effective and sustainable.

It is for this reason that we do not have “off the shelf” training courses. We will discuss your needs and current status and help to develop an environmental training programme (basic, intermediate or advanced) that suits your aspirations and budget. We also aim to “train your trainers” so that you can continue to present the training and only need periodic checks to keep it updated.

We can put together short (1- 4 hour briefings) or long (up to five full days) courses on all aspects of professional environmental training and awareness programmes. Arend Hoogervorst, our trainer, has been conducting training for over 27 years and has worked with all levels of trainees from Health and Safety Representatives up to senior managers, managers, directors and Managing Directors.

He understands the need for “buy-in” in training programmes and is passionate about helping people to understand environmental issues. He is also committed to helping people to help themselves and thus understand that everyone can play a part in effective environmental management and no role or contribution is too big or too small.

Environmental Management Systems

Environmental Management Systems (EMSs) have become a major part of operational systems and management practices. Whilst we naturally think of the International Standard for Environmental Management Systems, ISO 14001:2015, there are many other formal and informal environmental management systems which are used by different organisations.

We recognise that not all organisations need formal EMS’s and we can assist in developing or modifying existing systems to implement good environmental management practices.
