The programme provides comprehensive coverage of the National Environmental Management: Waste Act, 2008 and subordinate legislation, international conventions, and other legislation applicable to the management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

Purpose of the course:

The course provides comprehensive coverage of the National Environmental Management: Waste Act, 2008 and other application legislation. The aim of the course is to introduce learners to the International Conventions and South African legislation applicable to the management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

The topics to be covered during the session include:

– Environmental Principles and International Agreements

– Domestic Waste Legislation

– Domestic Policies, Strategies and Standards
